Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) govern tattoo services provided by Ehab (the “Artist”) at Atelier Jiyu, Manteuffelstraße 77, 10999 Berlin, Germany. By booking an appointment or submitting a request through this website, you agree to these Terms. They are written in plain English; the legally binding version is governed by German law (see § 11).
1. Booking and confirmation
A request submitted through this site is an inquiry, not a confirmed appointment. An appointment is binding only once the Artist has confirmed the date, the design direction and the price in writing (email or WhatsApp). Until that confirmation, no contract exists between you and the Artist.
2. Deposit
For longer pieces a non-refundable deposit may be required to secure your appointment date. The exact amount, if any, will be communicated to you in writing before you commit. The deposit is credited against the final price of the tattoo on the day of the session.
3. Cancellation and rescheduling
Life happens. If you need to reschedule, please contact the Artist at least 48 hours before your appointment so the time can be offered to someone else. Any deposit you have paid will be applied to your new date. Cancellations or no-shows with less than 48 hours notice forfeit the deposit. The Artist reserves the right to reschedule in cases of illness, injury or other unforeseen circumstances; in such cases any deposit is fully refundable at your choice.
4. Age requirement
You must be at least 18 years old to be tattooed. Valid photo ID will be checked on the day of your session. The Artist does not tattoo minors under any circumstances, including with parental consent.
5. Health, consent and aftercare
Before your session you will be asked about relevant medical conditions (e.g. skin conditions, allergies, pregnancy, blood-borne conditions, medications affecting bleeding or healing). The Artist relies on this information being accurate; please answer honestly. You may be asked to consult a doctor before proceeding. The Artist reserves the right to decline or postpone a session for health and safety reasons.
Tattoos are permanent. Outcomes depend on skin type, placement, lifestyle and aftercare. The Artist will provide written aftercare instructions; following them is your responsibility. The Artist is not liable for healing issues, fading or complications caused by failure to follow aftercare guidance, sun exposure, infection, or pre-existing skin conditions not disclosed in advance.
6. Pricing
The Artist quotes per piece, not per hour, once the design and placement are agreed. You will receive a clear written estimate before committing to a date. Significant changes to the design, size or placement after the estimate may affect the final price; any change will be discussed and agreed with you before work continues.
7. Designs and copyright
Every design is drawn from scratch around your idea, references and the part of the body it will live on. The Artist does not tattoo flash drawn by other artists and does not repeat designs that have already been tattooed. The copyright in the design itself remains with the Artist; you receive the right to wear the tattoo on your body for personal, non-commercial use. Commercial reproduction of the design (resale, merchandise, etc.) requires written permission.
8. Photography
The Artist may photograph the finished tattoo for portfolio, social media and website use. If you would prefer not to be photographed, or would prefer the photo not to be published, please let the Artist know before the session begins. Your wishes will be respected without question.
9. Your data — no sharing with third parties
The personal information you submit through this site (your name, email, phone or WhatsApp number, your tattoo idea and any reference images) is used solely to respond to your request and to organise your appointment. The Artist does not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or any other purpose. Your data is kept only for as long as is necessary to handle your request, and you can ask for it to be deleted at any time. Full details of how your data is handled are in the Data Protection notice, which is written in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
10. Limitation of liability
The Artist is liable without limitation for damages arising from intent or gross negligence, and for harm to life, body or health caused by negligent breach of duty. Liability for slight negligence is limited to damages typical and foreseeable for this kind of service. Statutory consumer rights under German law remain unaffected.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Where you are a consumer with habitual residence in another EU member state, mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country remain unaffected. The place of jurisdiction for any dispute is Berlin, Germany, to the extent legally permissible.
12. Online dispute resolution
The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution (ODR) at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. The Artist is not obliged to participate in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board, and does not currently do so.
13. Changes to these Terms
The Artist may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the moment you submit your inquiry applies to your booking. The current version is always available at this URL.
